KOTA KINABALU: Barisan has projected that it will form the next the state government with a more then two-thirds majority as it is leading in all but seven to 10 state seats.
Barisan newcomer Rozman Isli also won the Labuan federal territory seat for the coalition defeating corporate figure Tan Sri Ibrahim Menuddin(PKR) by a majority of 6625 votes.
Rosman managed to secure 12, 694 votes compared to Menuddin’s 6,069 votes. Although PAS Hadnan Mohamad withdrew on order of his party leaders, he still obtained 386 votes in the 24, 474 voters.
Unofficial results stated that Barisan’s Datuk Abdul Ghapur Salleh has retained his Kalabakan parliament seat in the seven-corner fight.
Except for Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Beaufort, Kota Marudu and Penampang, Barisan is leading in the remaining 20 parliament seats with more then half of the boxes counted.
