Anwar to address rakyat on Wednesday

anwar-clonePETALING JAYA, Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim announced today that he will address his supporters at 8.30pm on Wednesday, at the Kelana Jaya MBPJ stadium.

He is to highlight the alleged fraud and irregularities of the Election Commission and Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak during the 13th general election which was held yesterday.

“I call upon as many Malaysians to join hands and express our rejection and disgust at the unprecedented electoral frauds committed by Najib and the EC,” said Anwar in a statement today.

“The fact that Pakatan Rakyat won the popular votes by a large margin confirms the mandate given to us and highlights that electoral frauds won the elections for Najib,” he added.

He said Pakatan won 50.3% of the populor votes, as opposed to BN’s 46.8%.

Barisan Nasional won 13th general election with 133 parliament seats, against Pakatan Rakyat’s 89 parliamentary seats.

Call for change will continue

Anwar also said that change was inevitable as the people have vouched for it rather than be governed by the same party for another five years, adding to the existing 57 years.

“The call for change is unstoppable. The demand for a clean and fair elections to ensure the government is transparent and accountable will continue,” he said.

Anwar has vowed not give up until his questions on allegations of fraud are answered, and the BN government is able to prove their legitimacy.

“Our conscience cannot allow us to accept the election results conjured through frauds and cheating,” said Anwar.

“My heart is with every Malaysian who does not accept the results and I will work towards a national consensus to question the legitimacy of the BN government,” he added.
