GEORGE TOWN, May 10 – Former Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azizan Razak will undergo a surgery to amputate both his legs to prevent the infection in his legs from spreading to other parts of his body, according to his press secretary Mohd Helmi Khalid.
“Doctors have advised that both Azizan’s legs be amputated from below his knees. After discussion, both his wives, as well as his children, have agreed to follow the advice,” he said.
Jerai member of Parliament Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom, who visited Azizan at Penang Hospital earlier today, called on all Muslims to perform ‘solat hajat’ for the speedy recovery of the former menteri besar.
Also present were PAS president Datuk Seri Hadi Awang, former Kedah menteri besar Datuk Seri Mahadzir Khalid and former Mufti of Perlis Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin.
