According to him, Azizan was currently warded at the hospital’s intensive care unit while the family was in discussion, whether he should be brought home to continue treatment in Kedah.

Azizan, who is also Kedah PAS Commissioner, was transferred to the Penan Hospital on Wednesday from the Kedah Medical Centre when his legs became infected on Monday.

Kedah Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah, who together with Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Zambry Abdul Kadir visited Azizan today, said the Kedah Government would bear the medical costs for Azizan’s treatment.

Meanwhile, a Penang Hospital media relations source said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak was expected to visit Azizan at 1pm tomorrow.
