KUALA LUMPUR, May 28- Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today lodged a police report against the Election Commission (EC) over the indelible ink used to mark voters in the May 5 general election.
Anwar made the report at 12.30 pm at the Tropicana police station near here, close to the PKR headquarters, claiming that the ink stain on his finger was easily removed.
“I voted at 9.30 am in Kubang Semang in the Permatang Pauh parliamentary constituency. I washed my finger marked with the indelible ink at 5 pm of the same day and the stain was washed off,” he told reporters after making the police report.
Anwar’s wife, Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Ismail, who is PKR president, accompanied her husband to the police station.
EC chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof said on May 21 that the EC had set up a special taskforce to find out why the indelible ink stain did not remain long on the finger as alleged.
