JOHOR BAHARU, June 10- Johor PAS filed an election petition at the High Court here today seeking to annul the results for one parliamentary and three state seats, which were won by Barisan Nasional in the last general election on May 5.
The party’s lawyers Mohd Fikah Sanusi and Mohd Zulkhairi Ab Aziz told reporters that the petition involved the Pulai parliamentary seat and the Gambir, Mahkota and Nusajaya state seats.
“We’re just waiting for the case management date,” said Mohd Fikah. The Pulai seat was won by Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed who defeated PAS vice-president Salahuddin Ayub by a majority of 3,226 votes.
M.Asojan won Gambir by 310 votes against Johor PAS commissioner Datuk Dr Mahfodz Mohamed and two independents Mohd Zan Abu and Yunus Mustakim; Md Jais Sarday defeated Khairul Faizi by 1,108 votes for Mahkota and Dr Zaini Abu Bakar took Nusajaya with a majority of 2,201 votes by defeating Salahuddin.
