KUALA LUMPUR, June 27- Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today expressed his condolences to family members of the Kuala Besut Assemblyman, Dr A. Rahman Mokhtar who died yesterday morning.
“Let us pray that Allah blesses his soul,” he said in a short messaging service (SMS) to Bernama.
Muhyiddin described the late Dr A. Rahman as a dedicated person who was always committed in assisting the people.
Dr A. Rahman, 55, died at 10.18am at the Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah (HSNZ), Kuala Terengganu due to lung cancer.
The Chairman of the State Committee on Health, Women and Community Development, Terengganu died at the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit due to breathing failure after being admitted to the hospital a week ago.
In the 13th general election on May 5, Dr A. Rahman defended his Kuala Besut state seat after beating PAS candidate Napisah Ismail with a 2,434-vote majority.
