Sothinathan, Sunthar Appointed MIC CWC Members

KUALA LUMPUR, July 18- Two new members have been appointed to the MIC central working committee (CWC) by party president Datuk Seri G. Palanivel.

They are the party’s former vice-president, Datuk S. Sothinathan, and S. Sunthar, who is the son of former MIC deputy president Tan Sri S. Subramaniam.

Sunthar, who is chairman of a branch in the Seputih division, will replace Puteri MIC chief Usha Nandini in the CWC.

Usha will however, continue to sit as observer in the CWC.

In a statement here Wednesday, Palanivel, who is also natural resources and environment minister, said:

“I am appointing Sothinathan to replace (S.) Vell Paari who has been a member of the central working committee for the last few years.”

Sothinathan was former member of parliament for Teluk Kemang.

Vell Paari, who is MIC strategic director, is the son of former party president Datuk Seri Utama S. Samy Vellu.
