SEPANG, July 18- Malaysia Airlines (MAS) will be distributing more than 21,000 containers of special bubur lambuk (rice porridge) to the airport authorities and agencies, business partners and stakeholders, at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) until the arrival of Syawal.

The bubur lambuk project started in 2008.

MASMAS Group Chief Executive Officer Ahmad Jauhari Yahya launched the distribution of the bubur lambuk at KLIA here today.

In his speech, Ahmad Jauhari said the bubur lambuk project which began in 2008 is MAS’ another “Malaysian Hospitality” initiative, to extend its hospitality to all stakeholders based at the KLIA.

“This is our small way of appreciating all of you for your continuous support for MAS over all these years.

“Without your guidance, support and assistance, it will be almost impossible for us to deliver efficient customer service to our esteemed guests each day,” he said in his speech, before handing over the bubur lambuk to representatives of the various authorities and agencies here.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Jauhari said on July 1 this year, MAS celebrated the first anniversary of the induction of the Airbus A380 into its fleet.

He said the first MAS A380 aircraft took to the skies on its maiden flight from KLIA to London last year.

“Now, we have doubled the daily flights into London, and to Paris and Hong Kong.

“Essentially, the KLIA now handles about 1,976 passengers just for the A380 fleet alone daily, an increase of more than 50 per cent compared to before we had the A380.

“The MAS team now wants to take the glory of the A380 far and beyond all boundaries,” he added.
