KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 7 – Tune Talk has expanded its operations into Thailand by launching its prepaid 3G services targeted at tourists, professionals and youth in the country. In a statement today, Tune Talk said under a product and service licence arrangement with Thailand’s Loxley Mobile Co Ltd, it would use TOT plc’s 3G network to provide customers with benefits including the fastest 3G data speed and Tune Talk Points for AirAsia flights.

tunetalk_logoTune Talk Malaysia chief executive officer, Jason Lo, said the expansion was a major step towards the company’s regional expansion across Asia, which would give Tune Talk a cross-border footprint.

“It is our goal to really rock the mobile market, and with its connectivity, Thailand is a springboard for that,” he said. He said working with Loxley has allowed Tune Talk to expand and leverage on its success beyond Malaysia.

“The team and management at Loxley, the Tune Talk team, and our head of regional expansion & operations, Charles Ashley, have been working hard for almost two years on this endeavour and we are very excited to launch Tune Talk in Thailand,” Lo said.

Meanwhile, Loxley Mobile director, Suroj Lamsam, said the company was pleased to work together to deliver new features and services for Thai mobile subscribers going forward.
