AUG 2- Seven Congress MPs, six Lok Sabha MPs and one Rajya Sabha member, from Andhra region have tendered their resignation on Friday against the announcement of the formation of Telangana.
The MPs – L. Rajgopal, A. Saipratap, V. Arun Kumar, G.V. Harsh Kumar, Anant Venkatram Reddy — tendered their resignation to the Lok Sabha secretary general.
They also submitted the resignation of MP S.P.Y. Reddy.
Rajya Sabha member K.V.P. Ramchandra Rao has also tendered his resignation.
Four Union ministers from Seemandhra region are also likely to submit their resignations on Friday.
The four Union ministers who are likely to quit are Pallam Raju, Purandeshwari Devi, Killi Krupa Rani and J.D. Seelam.
Earlier, stepping up the pressure on Congress leadership to rescind its decision on Telangana, a minister, nine MLAs and four MLCs from coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema resigned as widespread protests continued in non-Telangana regions for the second day.
