KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 19 – Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Mukhriz Tun Dr Mahathir has not decided whether to contest the Umno elections this October.
He is still considering whether to contest or not although there were suggestions from some quarters that he contest the elections.
“But there were also suggestions from Umno veterans that the menteris besar and chief ministers opt out to focus on their respective states,” he said at the open house of former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad here Sunday.
Mukhriz said before deciding to contest, the candidates should evaluate whether they are really qualified to become leaders of high calibre.
