BANDAR TUN RAZAK, (Jengka) Sept 23- Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad has no plans to form a team to face the six-cornered fight for the three vice-president posts at Umno’s polls next month.
The Felda chairman said there was no need to form a team because the election was a family affair.
“Let the election proceed according to the rules and I am prepared to accept the decision of the delegates, furthermore it is not a general election to determine the government of the country.
“I think it is not apt to form a team in a contest like this because the power to choose lies in the hands of the delegates,” he told reporters after opening a programme near here Sunday.
Mohd Isa, who confirmed his nomination for the post yesterday, will be facing three incumbents, namely, Home Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein and two new candidates, former Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam and Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Mukhriz Tun Mahathir .
