SEPT 23- The government today advised the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) to protect the mandate it had received from the voters at the Northern Provincial Council elections.
The Minister of Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapksa said that the TNA has a responsibility towards the people to take forward the development work in the province.
He said that the government was ready to work with the TNA with regards to the development of the province.
“The TNA must ensure the development of the youth in the area,” he added.
The Minister said that the TNA should not be just satisfied with winning the election but should also work in a manner keeping national interests at hand while safeguarding the sovereignty of the country.
