“This is an important milestone for Malindo Air. We have been witnessing gradual growth in the aviation industry over the last few years driven by a continued increase in consumer confidence and spending,” said Chief Executive Officer Chandran Rama Muthy in a statement.

He said Malindo Air was certain these modern aircraft would help fulfil its ambitious growth plans.

To date, Malindo Air has taken delivery of six Boeing 737-900ERs since the company’s official launch on March 22, 2013.

“Every aircraft we inaugurate passes through a diligent review process by our team and the manufacturers.

“The whole process covers aircraft customisation, standards review and stringent quality checks of aircraft parts and components, all validated by our Malindo Air team, inspectors from the Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia and the manufacturers,” Chandran added.
