The sultan expressed hope that Malaysians would study and understand the history of the country properly and would not trade national pride and honour just for the sake of support and popularity.

“I believe Malaysians will not forget the country’s darkest moments during the Emergency,” he said.

He said the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) was an important component of the armed forces in defending the country’s sovereignty by maintaining the security of the country’s sea lanes.

The Sultan congratulated RMN for successfully overcoming the challenges during Ops Daulat, and called on all security agencies, including the police, armed forces and Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency, to cooperate and remain in constant contact with each other to effectively protect the country.
