Manila, Oct 16 – At least 99 people have been confirmed dead and 276 others injured in a magnitude-7.2 earthquake in central Philippines, the disaster relief agency said Wednesday.
The Philippines’ National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said 90 victims were killed in Bohol, eight in Cebu and one in Siquijor, Xinhua news agency reported.
A total of 166 injured victims were in Bohol and 106 in Cebu.
About 558,390 families with 2.84 million people were affected in three provinces.
Power outages are still experienced in the province of Bohol and Iloilo,Cadiz city in Negros Occidental province.
All seaports remain open in Cebu except for the No. 4 Pier, and nearly all port operations have resumed in Bohol.
Airports in affected areas resumed operations on Tuesday.
