Yan, Oct 30 – Wanita Umno chief Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil said PAS raising the issue of an expired milk tin donated by the Barisan Nasional (BN) showed the opposition party had run out of issues.
She said PAS urging Baling member of parliament Datuk Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim to apologise for giving the expired milk tins was also an attempt by PAS to cover the fake posters issue on the Sungai Limau by-election.
“PAS’s actions prove the party is only concerned with trivial issues when compared with BN which is more focused with efforts to develop the area,” she told reporters after opening the National Entrepreneurial Group Economic Fund (Tekun Nasional) With Single Mothers programme near here, Tuesday.
She was responding to a news report in online Harakahdaily PAS where Kedah PAS commissioner Datuk Mahfuz Omar called on Abdul Azeez to take responsibility and apologise to voters here as he considered Abdul Azeez’s contribution as not sincere.
Meanwhile, Abdul Azeez said in a statement here today, that it was a desperate move by PAS to garner support and sympathy of the people of ahead of the Sungai Limau by-election on Nov 4.
“It was a deliberate issue to create voter resentment,” he said.
According to reports in Harakah Daily, a can of milk given to people in Sungai Dedap together flour, rice and sugar was found to have expired three days ago, while the outer plastic bag bore the name and picture of Abdul Azeez.
