Seremban, Jan 8- Negeri Sembilan MIC is in the midst of formulating an effective strategy in its operation to regain the Indian community’s confidence and support for MIC and Barisan Nasional (BN).
As such, its chairman, Datuk S. Sothinathan, who is also MIC vice-president, said from now, all activities organised by the party would focus on achieving that goal.
“We must have an effective strategy in our operation and I have shared this view with Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan yesterday and as the Negeri Sembilan BN chairman, he had pledged full support and expressed willingness to help us in our efforts to strengthen the party and organise programmes at the grass root,” he told Bernama here Tuesday.
Sothinathan also called on Negeri Sembilan MIC leaders and members to close ranks in order to put the party back on the right track to face future challenges, especially in winning back the Telok Kemang parliamentary seat and Port Dickson state seat, which were currently under the opposition, in the 14th general election.
“We know that it’s not easy…we must work harder to reach out to the people. This effort must be done consistently and continuously by not one, but all BN component parties.
“I’m confident that if we can do that until the next general election, we will have bigger chances to redeem our losses,” he added.
