The hottest Malaysian acts to heat up Malaysian Supernova concert in Cannes, France

Kuala Lumpur, Jan 24  – Malaysia is all geared up to rock the world stage at the Marche International du Disque et de l’Edition Musicale (MIDEM) in Cannes, France. For the second time, the country will be hosting our very own annual international ‘Malaysian Supernova Concert’.

The event organised by the Recording Industry Association of Malaysia (RIM) with the support of the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia is getting bigger and better and this year will feature renowned Malaysian performers – Shila Amzah, GoldKartz, Thomas Jack and Azlan & the Typewriter.

These internationally award winning artistes will represent the various Malaysian talents from different genres of music. The Malaysian Supernova Concert will be headlining with the winner of the Asian Wave Award and Champion of Asia’s New Singer Competition; Shila Amzah, also known as ‘Asia’s Sweetheart’.

Shila will be headlining the ‘Malaysia Supernova’ concert with her show stopping vocals and unique repertoire that encompasses Malay, Chinese and the English languages. Shila has proven herself in the International market time and time again and has been recently nominated for the World Music Awards in 5 different categories for World’s Best Song, World’s Best Female Artist, World’s Best Live Act, World’s Best Entertainer and World’s Best Video.

Up next, Malaysia kicks up the beat with GoldKartz; one of the country’s most sought after and acclaimed band that have performed all over the world as well as being the only South East Asian act to be invited to perform at the UK Asian Music Awards.

This Bhangra-dance duo made up of brothers, Manjit Singh Gill and Sukhjit Singh Gill have shared the stage with international superstars such as Datuk Shah Rukh Khan, Jay Sean, Imran Khan and Shankar Mahadevan. They have recently won the Video Music Awards Malaysia 2014 for Best Pop Song and Best Indian/Punjabi Song.
