Air Asia signs agreement with GE Electric during Obama’s visit

US President Barack Obama visit MalaysiaKuala Lumpur, April 28 – Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak looks on as US President Barack Obama chats with AirAsia X Group CEO, Tony Fernandez during the signing of a major commercial agreement today with American businesses between Malaysia’s Air Asia X Group CEO, Tony Fernandez and US company GE (General Electric) President and CEO GE Global Growth & Operations, John G Rice.

Malaysian and US companies signed deals worth one billion US dollar in Kuala Lumpur, witnessed by the US President as he concluded his three-day visit to Malaysia.

One of the agreements involved General Electric making engines for 25 A330 aircraft for AirAsia X Bhd, the long-haul unit of Asia’s biggest low-cost airline.
