May 21 – Priyanka Chopra, who will be playing the protagonist in Madhur Bhandarkar’s next film titled Madamji, has decided to also co-produce the film with Bhandarkar Entertainment.Madamji, we hear is the story of an item girl who becomes a top politician in the days to come.
While most top male actors have turned producers, it’s rare to find leading ladies do the same. Priyanka, who left for Barcelona to shoot for Zoya Akhtar’s Dil Dhadakne, recently had a meeting with Bhandarkar and expressed her interest in co-producing the film with the director. According to the source Madhur agreed immediately. Known for his penchant for hard-hitting films, Madhur has borrowed from the lives of various real life politicians.
It has also been learn that Priyanka was keen to do a film where she would get to speak in the Hindi as it is spoken in UP. Priyanka Chopra has spent considerable time in her childhood in UP as her father was an army doctor.
In recent times, actor Anushka Sharma has also taken the plunge to producer her first film NH 10. After some sound advice from Anurag Kashyap, the director of her forthcoming film Bombay Velvet, Anushka decided to co-produce the film with a corporate production house Eros International.
