New Delhi, May 27 – A handout photograph provided by the Indian President House shows Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi (4-R), along with Indian President Pranab Mukherjee (5-R) and vice president Hamid Ansari (C), with invited foreign dignitaries which include Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif (5-L), President of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa (3-L), President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai (3-R) and others after Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony yesterday, as the new prime minister at the presidential palace in New Delhi.
Narendra Modi was sworn in as India’s 15th prime minister and vowed to build a ‘glorious future’ for the South Asian country. Modi, 63, took the oath before an estimated 4,000 guests, including his counterpart from rival Pakistan Nawaz Sharif on the forecourt of the presidential palace in New Delhi.
