oneplus-oneNew Delhi, August 22 – A couple of weeks ago, a forum post on the website of OnePlus, the company behind One Plus One, admitted to the incredible popularity of its phone in India.

While it made no specific claims about the India launch of the device, it claimed that many Indians were importing OnePlus One. On Wednesday, OnePlus posted a job listing for a general manager for its planned India operations.

“A key figure to our success in India will be our general manager who will help us set up the India team and operations. Today, we’re announcing that we’re hiring for this position.

Oneplus-One-03_1200Like any other company, we’re looking for experience, brains, and perseverance – but none of this matters if we don’t share the same dreams or connect on culture,” noted the message posted on the forum.

OnePlus is a China-based smartphone maker. Earlier in the year, it launched the OnePlus One which offers incredible value to consumers due to its mainstream price.

The device offers a 5.5-inch 1080P screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor, 3GB of RAM,  and 16/64GB of internal storage at a price starting $299.

It also has incredible camera hardware. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera. The phone has a massive 3,100mAh battery and it runs on CyanogenMod 11S, which is based on Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

oneplus_one_frontThe OnePlus strategy of incredible hardware at mainstream prices is similar to that of Xiaomi, which has been selling the Mi 3 smartphone in India for a month for just Rs 13,999.

However, unlike Xiaomi that relies on flash sale model, OnePlus uses invite system to sell its phone. This means to buy One Plus One, a consumer requires an invite from OnePlus.
