KUANTAN, Aug 23- The 25th Elang Malindo joint exercise between the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) and Indonesia’s air force (TNI-AU) optimises the capabilities of the two air forces, according to RMAF chief Tan Sri Jen Rodzali Daud.
He said the exercise held from Aug 12 till today had further enhanced operational cooperation and coordination with air operation handling procedures, besides strengthening the existing cooperation.
He noted that the assets used in the in the exercise were likely to provide big returns when members of the two armed forces mutually understood the work procedures.
“In addition, the exercise can identify improvements that need to be done from time to time as well as provide space for participants from both forces to foster the spirit of brotherhood,” he said in his speech at the closing ceremony of the Elang Malindo 25/2014 Exercise at the RMAF Base here today.

Among the aircraft used in the exercise were four Hawk 109/209 fighter aircraft, a C-130 aircraft, EC725 AP helicopter a latest asset owned by RMAF.
The Indonesian side also sent four Hawk 109/209 aircraft, a Super Puma helicopter and the latest CN295 transport aircraft.
Meanwhile, at the closing ceremony, five senior RMAF and TNI-AU officers were presented with the RMAF/TNI-AU Honorary Wings by TNI-AU chief of staff Marshal Ida Bagus Putu Dunia and the Deputy Chief of the RMAF.
