KENINGAU, Feb 22- The opposition parties have resorted to telling lie to hoodwink the people’s mind as a tactic to bring down the Barisan Nasional (BN). Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin(Pic) said they were now worried because the people, especially in states under the opposition, had realised that BN was the only government capable of protecting their interests and welfare.
Portraying Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the country’s number one traitor, he said the Opposition leader intentionally painted a bad picture of the situation in the country abroad.
“The Pakatan Rakyat leaders come to Sabah, (telling the people) that BN is losing in the peninsula. That is a lie … and that Sabah, too, will fall into their hands.
“They say the people in Malaysia are suffering, but the opposition actually feels pressured because they are seeing the wave, that is the awakening on how BN struggles for the people,” he added.
“Anwar is getting less support from the people in his campaign. So, when the people no longer believe him, he went overseas, like Australia and Indonesia, to condemn Malaysia,” he said at the “Himpunan Rakyat 1Malaysia” programme here tonight.
At the function, Muhyiddin, who is also Education Minister, approved an allocation of RM40 million to build a new secondary school, SMK Desa Wawasan, in Tambunan near here. He also announced a RM2 million allocation for the building of a multi-purpose hall at SK Bingkor and RM1 million for implementation of various small projects in Keningau.
