CIMB BEST programme empowers Bumiputera entrepreneurs for business success

KUALA LUMPUR, September 24- CIMB Group is commencing an initiative called CIMB Bumiputera Entrepreneur Skills Transformation Programme (CIMB BEST) on Sept 25, to expand the development opportunities for Bumiputera entrepreneurs in Malaysia.

The high-impact development programme was aimed at empowering Bumiputera entrepreneurs with knowledge on finance, business development and management, and help create access to markets and funding opportunities, CIMB said in a statement here Tuesday.

The pilot programme will see 150 entrepreneurs of varying experience levels participate in structured capability-building courses to enhance their skills at running successful Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), with modules ranging from identifying business opportunities, marketing to potential expansion strategies.

CIMB Group Acting Group Chief Executive, Tengku Datuk Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz said with the wealth of training and coaching support available, CIMB BEST offered a platform for skills transformation and aimed at supporting aspiring and existing Bumiputera SME entrepreneurs with valuable insights into building successful enterprises.

“We see a huge potential in this segment of entrepreneurs.”With the right guidance, and by leveraging on the learning networks available through this programme, they will be better prepared to thrive in the country’s dynamic SME market,” he said.

CIMB has partnered with government agencies such as Bumiputera Agenda Steering Unit, National Entrepreneurial Group Economic Fund and Majlis Amanah Rakyat to select the participants for the pilot programme.
