LANGKAWI, September 27 – UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd plans to invest nearly RM500 million this year to expand its network nationwide in order to meet rising demand of Toyota and Lexus vehicles.
Its President, Datuk Ismet Suki said this entails opening new outlets, and refurbishing and upgrading Toyota facilities in an effort to enhance customers’ convenience and comfort.
“We are committed to delivering high-quality products and excellent service to reaffirm our position as the country’s top selling non-national brand for more two decades,” he said at the launch of the newly-expanded Toyota Langkawi Branch by UMW Toyota Motor Deputy Chairman Datuk Takashi Hibi, here today.
As part of its network expansion, UMW Toyota Motor has opened branches in Kulai and Tawau to cater for Toyota vehicles, besides Kuching and Ipoh for Lexus vehicles.Another branch meant for Lexus vehicles in Melaka will begin operations in December.
Ismet said to date, UMW Toyota Motor has 99 Toyota and Lexus sales and after-sales service, and dealer outlets nationwide.
“We strongly believe that the automotive industry will continue to grow, thus we will continue to strengthen our operations to meet our sales target of more than 100,000 units this year in order to achieve the market share of close to 15 per cent.
“As for after-sales service, we will continue to attain more than 1.25 million customer paid units service (CPUS),” he said.On customers’ satisfaction, he said UMW Toyota Motor was ranked number one in the Customer Service Index (CSI) and Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI) categories in Malaysia in 2014.
“The double achievements demonstrate a clear statement of our satisfied customers and signify that our brand has won our customers’ trust and expectations.”UMW Toyota Motor is constantly raising standards on dependability, reliability and customer satisfaction which is part of our commitment to quality,” he said.
On the Langkawi sales and after-sales service outlet, he said it was expanded at the cost of nearly RM10 million to deliver Toyota brand promise and the Toyota Quality Experience (TQE) to customers.
It also provides a showroom and offers the Lexus Service Support since early this month.Year to date, more than 11,000 Toyota vehicles have been sold in the northern region of the peninsula, accounting for 17 per cent of the overall UMW Toyota Motor sales.The northern region also contributes 17 per cent to the total number of vehicles serviced by UMW Toyota.
