Kuala Lumpur, November 27 – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a letter to Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak on 20th November 2014, has conveyed his appreciation for the successful ASEAN-India Summit held in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar, on 12th November 2014.
This was stated in a press statement released by the Indian High Commission in Kuala Lumpur today.
Both Prime Ministers had met on the side-lines of the ASEAN Summit and discussed issues of mutual bilateral interest, focusing on deepening of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
In his letter, Modi said that he was looking forward to deeper bilateral engagement with Malaysia and Malaysia’s continued support in strengthening the growing ties between India and ASEAN.
Modi also expressed confidence that India and the dynamic Southeast Asian region can raise their economic collaboration to a higher trajectory and also work together for peace, stability and better future through cooperation for all, for which he found enormous convergence. The Prime Minister mentioned that the support and goodwill expressed by the ASEAN leaders gave him confidence in pursuing the goal of transforming Indian economy for the betterment of its people.
