THRISSUR (Kerala), December 30 – Kerala’s cultural town Thrissur has set a new Guinness World Record for organising the largest gathering of Santa Clauses.
A total of 18,112 people dressed as Santa Clause gathered at the Shakthan Thampuran Market ground in the heart of the south western Indian city on Sunday, Press Trust of India (PTI) reported.
Official adjudicator of Guinness World Records Limited, Lucia Sinigagliesi, announced the achievement on Sunday.The event was organised by Thrissur Diocese in cooperation with local residents. The previous record was achieved by 13,000 people in Northern Ireland on Dec 9, 2007.
