JAKARTA, Febraury 25 – An undersea earthquake of magnitude 5.7 jolted East Borneo in central parts of Indonesia on Wednesday, the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency said.
The quake struck at 8:31 a.m. Jakarta time with its epicentre at 413 km northeast Tarakan of East Borneo and was at a depth of 10 km under the sea,China’s Xinhua news agency reports.
Indonesia lies on the Pacific ‘Ring of Fire’ and is vulnerable to earthquakes.
