Kuala Lumpur, March 20 – Anil Wadhwa, Secretary (East) to Ministry of External Affairs of India is in Kuala Lumpur on an official visit to Malaysia. Anil Wadhwa’s visit to Malaysia commenced on the 18th of March and he is expected to leave Kuala Lumpur today.
His visit is in conjunction with Festival of India in Malaysia 2015 as well as to meet senior officials in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia.

Anil met Dato’ Hamzah Zainudin, Deputy Foreign Minister of Malaysia on the first day of his visit wherein both of them had an opportunity to review some important aspects of India-Malaysia relations, including the forthcoming Joint Commission Meeting, political and defence relations, health and education, etc.
The Deputy Foreign Minister conveyed the readiness of Malaysia to further expand the scope and depth of India-Malaysia bilateral relations.
Anil also called on Datuk Seri G. Palanivel, Minister for Natural Resources and Environment of Malaysia and President of the Malaysian Indian Congress.
On March 18th evening, Anil addressed a gathering of CEOs of major Malaysian companies, think-tanks, senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, academicians, CEOs of Indian companies in Malaysia etc and exchanged views on a range of bilateral as well as ASEAN related issues and about India’s Act East policy.

On 19 March, Anil met his counterpart, Dato’ Ramlan Ibrahim, Deputy Secretary General, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia. They held detailed discussions on the entire gamut of India-Malaysia bilateral matters and follow-up to the Foreign Office Consultations between the two countries held earlier in January this year.
Yesterday (19 March) Anil also attended the Bharatanatyam dance performance by Padma Bhushan Smt. Alarmel Valli, as Chief Guest, which was held in Kuala Lumpur as a part of the Festival of India in Malaysia.
