Kuala Lumpur, May 10 – MIC Deputy President Datuk Seri Dr S.Subramaniam has categorically stated that the leadership crisis sweeping the party is due to the inefficiency of the current leadership and not because someone is instigating.
He was responding to a statement today released by party President Datuk Seri G.Palanivel.
In a press statement released today, MIC President Datuk Seri G.Palanivel alleged that former President Datuk Seri Utama S.Samy Vellu is meddling in MIC’s affairs and that he is also instigating others to go against his leadership.
Dr Subramaniam who is also the Health Minister was replying to reporters after attending a Ministry function in Gombak (Selangor) today. One of the reporters asked him for his comments on Palanivel’s statement that Samy Vellu is instigating others to go against his leadership.
“It is not true. We are people who have the capacity to think for ourselves and make our own decisions. It is not true that Samy Vellu is instigating us. I am the last person who can be instigated by anyone” Subra said firmly.
Later, when approached, Dr Subra further said that the MIC crisis today is the result of the weak and inefficient leadership of G.Palanivel and not because of instigation from any quarters.
