Hindu NGOs meet to discuss Mahathir’s statement on Zakir Naik

Kuala Lumpur – Several Hindu NGOs and Temples are gathering today (Sunday July 8) at 4.00 pm to discuss matters pertaining to controversial preacher Zakir Naik and to discuss about the statement made by Prime Minister Tun Mahathir on extraditing Zakir Naik.

The meeting is scheduled to take place at the GOPIO office at Unit 2B, Pearl Court, No: 61, Jalan Thamby Abdullah, Brickfields, 50470 Kuala Lumpur.

A press meet is also scheduled at 5.00 pm today after the meeting at the same venue.

Commenting on Zakir Naik’s status, Mahathir said “As long as he is not creating any problem, we will not deport him because he has been given permanent resident status,” when speaking to the press on 6th of July.

Several news portals in India reported that an application to extradite Zakir to India has been submitted to the Malaysian government.
