Airport Metro resumes flight check-in facility at New Delhi

New Delhi, March 16, 2013- Check-in facility for flights to domestic destinations and Gulf countries were re-started at the New Delhi station of the Airport Express Line from Friday.

Delhi Airport Metro Express Private Limited (DAMEPL ) officials announced that the facility will be available from 6 am to 8 pm and passengers will have to check in at least two-and-a-half-hours before their flight timing.

Jet Airways and Air India have provided their check-in facility at the New Delhi Metro station of the Airport Express Line. Officials said talks were going on with other airlines that have international service from the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) to set up their check-in counters at the Reliance Metro Airport Express stations.

Fliers can check-in and collect their boarding passes maximum eight hours prior to their flight time, it said.

airport-metro_350_012113070346_031613031426“The city check-in facility at the Airport Metro stations will be highly beneficial for the domestic and international airline passengers, who can hand over their luggage well in advance and utilise their time in a fruitful manner. This would be immensely helpful for up-country passengers who wish to catch international flights,” a statement from DAMEPL said .

The Airport Express Line runs daily from 5.30 am to 11.30 pm at a frequency of 15 minutes. The line is connected directly to the Terminal-3, but passengers arriving at or boarding flights from Terminal-1 can also avail this service from Aerocity station.

Airport Metro already provides facilities such as cloak room, trolley and porter service, radio cab service and Wi-Fi at their stations.
