12 April 2013-Sinhala film stars condemn the recent hunger strike protest stage by the south Indian film stars.
Sinhala actress Malani Fonseka announced they have decided to stage protest at the Independence square this evening.
Speaking to media Malani Fonseka said we condemn the hunger strike organised by the Tamil film industry.
They should visit us and monitor the present situation of this country. End of the protest we are willing to handover petition towards Indian high commission and this petition would be published as advertisement in the Indian newspaper.
Sportsman, members of women organization and representatives of Lankan film industry will take part in this protest.
She is a most popular Lankan Sinhala actress and currently she is Member of Parliament.
She played leading role in with Sivaji Ganesan in the flim named Pilot Premanandha which released in 1978.
Sharing her experience on acting with Sivaji Ganesan she said, we have received many things and learned from them. Film stars of two industry always maintains close relationship.
I still remember the shooting days of Pilot Premanandha film. In the film Sridevi was my daughter and Sivaji Gansean was my husband. Lankans always love the name of Rajinikanth and Kamalahasan, she said.
