KUALA TERENGGANU, Feb 18 – The Terengganu Umno Youth movement today took pride in that its idea to help youths obtain motorcyle licence had been realised through the 1Malaysia Licence Aid (BL1M) programme. Its leader, Saiful Bahri Datuk Badaruddin, said they proposed the idea during the 2011 Umno general assembly.
“The objective of BL1M is to help youths aged 17 to 40 who do not have a valid driving licence,” he told a media conference here today. He said through BL1M, those eligible would pay only RM199 to be issued with a motorcycle licence. Previously, they would have to pay between RM300 and RM500 to driving schools to be issued with a licence, he added. The BL1M programme was launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Abdul Razak last Feb 1.
