Muhyiddin begins one-day visit to Penang

GEORGE TOWN, March 9 – Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin(pic) today began a day-long visit to Penang.  He flew in to the Penang International Airport at 8.55 am and was greeted by Penang Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Teng Chang Yeow, Penang Umno Liaison Committee chairman Datuk Zainal Abidin Osman and other state leaders of BN component parties.

Muhyiddin launched his visit with a breakfast meeting with community leaders of the Bayan Lepas state constituency and mingled with leaders and members of the Penang International Airport Association in Kampung Nelayan, Teluk Kumbar.
He is scheduled to visit several poor Chinese families, whose houses in the village were renovated by the Penang BN, and lay the foundation stone for the construction of a new mosque nearby.

5He is also scheduled to attend a meeting with Islamic education teachers at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). In the afternoon, the deputy prime minister is scheduled to attend a briefing on the upgrading and renovation of five Tamil schools in Penang by the state Public Works Department director and the technical director of the

Development Division of the Education Ministry. Muhyiddin will conclude his visit to the state by attending a gathering of the entrepreneur community at the Bukit Jawi Golf Club.
