New Delhi – Consequent to the Resolution adopted by the United Nations General Assembly during its 69th Session for observing 21st June as International Day of Yoga, the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India took necessary steps in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs to celebrate the day in a befitting manner throughout the country and across the globe.
The two day International Conference on Yoga organized by the Ministry of AYUSH at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on 21-22 June, 2015 was inaugurated by Shri Narendra Modi, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India and the valedictory function was chaired by Shri Rajnath Singh, the Hon’ble Home Minister of India. The Conference was attended by more than 1500 participants, which included more than 50 foreign experts, besides resource persons/experts from renowned Indian Yoga Institutes/Universities.
This year again, the Ministry of AYUSH proposes to organize a 2-3 days International Conference, to be inaugurated on 21st June, 2016. The Conference is likely to be held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
Yoga experts or enthusiasts from Malaysia who are interested to participate in the said Conference may write to fscom@indianhighcommission.com.my, along with their names and passport details latest by 18th May 2016, to enable the Ministry of AYUSH to obtain necessary clearances for their visit to India and also to make necessary arrangements for their comfortable stay.
Their participation will enable them to capture and understand various dimensions of Yoga, and could help them to further propagate the same in Malaysia. Ministry of AYUSH will bear expenses on local hospitality including boarding, lodging, local transport, etc. from 20-23 June, 2016 in respect of such guests.
