Kuala Lumpur – In response to the statement by actor Suriya, one of the organisers of Maha Hindu Youth Unity Festival 2016 (MAHA), Arun Dorasamy, has said that an official reply will be released soon.
“We have no intention to derogate or belittle anyone but RM250K fee for a free youth charity event shows total disregard for Malaysians’ contribution to their (Tamil) movies” Arun Dorasamy (pic) said in his facebook posting.
He also said ‘AGARAM FOUNDATION’ is yet to write to the Secretariat of MAHA on this matter.
Arun also urged Suriya to check with his Team, Managers and Agents before totally dismissing and shielding with the statement translated as saying “he has no idea”.
“I heard a threat of law suit and we will face anything and it is their right to seek any remedies deem fit” Arun retorted.
“Anyway for all Malaysians, many were bombarding me for inviting Suriya ji for MAHA HINDU UNITY FEST 2016, The real reason is AGARAM FOUNDATION. We wanted the founder of Agaram to take on Education and Youth to next level and talk to ignite and press for the importance of education among Malaysian Hindu Youths” Arun further noted in his facebook posting.
Arun also said some local artistes were not happy because “we were seeking Indian artistes to participate in the event that is being organized by Malaysian”.
Having taken note of such grievances from local artistes, Arun pointed out that “HINDU YOUTH CONCERT 2016 will fully showcase our own very talented local artistes”
“We are meeting all local artists this Sunday and we will be meeting the media next week. Currently, we have replaced the Kalvi talk and are looking forward to the grand scale event. We are also surprised at the amount of support we are getting from Public, Youths and local artists. Even response from some ministers are very encouraging” Arun said.
MAHA HINDU ILAINYAR OTRUMAI ELICHI VELVI 2016 will be held on 4th and 5th of June at Dataran Petaling Jaya (Opposite AmCorp Mall) Petaling Jaya.
