Those installing or updating Microsoft’s video chat program Skype should be aware of its attempts to change internet settings.
If you’re not careful with your clicks during the installation or update, you just might unintendedly end up with Microsoft’s Bing as your default search engine and msn.com as your browser home page.
For those wanting to choose their search engine and home page themselves, just remember to untick two boxes when it asks to make Bing the default search engine and MSN the home.
If you forget to do so during the update or installation, you can go to each browser’s settings and reverse the changes. In Firefox for example, select Options and Search > Default Search Engine will fix one problem and General > Home Page will fix the other.
