Washington – NASA will announce “new findings” on planets beyond Earth’s solar system in a press conference Wednesday, the US space agency said.
The briefing is scheduled for 1 pm (1800 GMT) at NASA headquarters in Washington.

The event can be viewed live on NASA’s website and some questions during the event with be taken from the public using the Twitter hashtag #askNASA.
NASA typically holds such press events only to announce major findings. Several of NASA’s top staff and other scientists are expected to participate.
Planets that orbit other stars are known as exoplanets.
