SEPANG – Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (klia2) experienced a 10-minute power failure this afternoon due to technical issues at the substation.
The airport operator, Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB), said back-up power was immediately activated in the 2.35 pm incident, and power to all the essential systems at klia2 was restored at 2.45 pm to ensure that the passenger processing and flight operations were not affected.
“Power supply to all klia2 operations including the retail and F&B outlets was fully restored about 4 pm,” said MAHB in a statement today.
“The cause of the failure is currently being investigated and we would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused due to the short power outage,” it said.
It is learnt that no flights and passengers were affected during the power failure.
