Anjali, who has been at the centre of a huge controversy, is said to have spoken to her mother over phone to assure that she is safe and ask her not to worry about her well-being. The problem erupted three days back with Anjali accusing her Aunt Bharathi Devi (whom many thought as her mother) of “swindling” her hard-earned money. Anjali quit her recently-acquired new house at Alapakkam in Chennai’s outskirts and reportedly went to Hyderabad.
Anjali also accused director-actor Kalanjiyam of aiding her Aunt in her condemnable activities. She remained untraceable as the media-persons made frantic efforts to talk to her about the crisis. The hotel where Anjali booked in soon after arriving at Hyderabad couldn’t provide details about her whereabouts. Anjali’s Aunt had earlier said she doubted Anjali’s brother’s role in her disappearance.
In the meantime, Anjali reportedly spoke to her mother Parvathi Devi in Mogalikuduru, East Godavari district over the phone. During the brief conversation, Anjali is said to have told her mother that though she was safe, but wasn’t in a position to reveal the place . She also told her mother that she was feeling ‘stressed out’ and wanted to walk out of her hotel room while her uncle is not around.
Confirming the same were the video footage obtained from the camera in the hotel, showing her walking out alone, and her mobile remains switched off. Meanwhile Anjali’s Aunt has revealed that Anjali became an actress only on the precondition that her income would be split into three: for herself, her Aunt and her mother. She also said that Anjali’s allegation that she had been robbed a few crores of rupees was false as she never earned that much money through her film career. “For her role in Settai, she was paid around Rs.2 crores, which is her biggest pay-cheque as on date,” said Bharathi Devi.
