PUTRAJAYA, April 13 – PAS Vice President Datuk Husam Musa(Pic) is playing safe by contesting the Salor state assembly and Putrajaya parliamentary seats in the 13th General Election. Husam, who was the incumbent Salor state assemblyman, said he was confident of defending his seat in Salor but had second thought on the Putrajaya seat as the administrative capital was Barisan Nasional’s (BN) stronghold.
“Nevermind, we (the opposition) will try out Putrajaya seat,” he told reporters at a press conference here, today. The seat for the 4,931-hectare federal government administration centre was won by Umno and BN secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor since 2004, after the area was gazetted as a Federal Territory in 2001.
In the 2008 general election, Tengku Adnan won over Federal Territory PAS commissioner Mohamad Noor Mohamad on a majority of 2,734 votes. Asked on a sex video implicating a high-ranking senior PAS leader, Husam said the matter had been forwarded to the police for further investigation.
