PAGOH, April 21 – The failure by opposition parties to avoid contesting against each other in the general election shows that they are not united. Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the disagreement at early stage such as on nomination day shows they could not unite to form the government.
“Opposition parties combine but are not united. PAS and PKR candidates are contesting against BN candidates in certain areas. They cannot govern the country like Barisan Nasional (BN),” he told a rally in Kg Bukit Rahmat, Gersik, here tonight.
Muhyiddin assured that all villages in Pagoh parliamentary constituency will be upgraded in five years if BN was given the mandate to form the government. The incumbent for Pagoh said that progress would raise the standard and income of villagers and enable them to enjoy a more comfortable life.
Also present were his wife, Puan Sri Norainee Abdul Rahman and BN candidates Ismail Mohamed (Bukit Serampang) and Datuk Dr Shahruddin Md Salleh (Jorak).
