KOTA BAHARU, April 24 – Kelantan Barisan Nasional’s (BN) election director Datuk Hassan Harun said he did not believe PAS would be able to make any new promises in its manifesto scheduled to be unveiled tonight.
He said whatever progress achieved in Kelantan was mainly due to the federal government’s efforts which put the people’s interests first.
“The Kelantan government has never showed a surplus budget, and in fact, its revenue is only enough to pay salaries,” he told reporters here today.
This was unlike the BN’s manifesto which gave the assurance to bring Kelantan to be at par with developed states in the country without sacrificing Islamic principles, he said. He added that after 20 years of PAS rule in Kelantan, the state was “ripe” to return to the BN after the 13th General Election on May 5.
