Muhyiddin YassinSUBANG, April 29 – Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin hopes the 13th general election (GE13) process will proceed smoothly without threat from any group.

“The people who want to cast their votes at the polling centres certainly do not want to be intimidated when making their decision at the centres,” he said.

He said this at the 1Malaysia gathering and breakfast with almost 1,000 personnel of the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) at the Subang air base, here today. Also present was Air Force chief, General Tan Sri Rodzali Daud.

The Election Commission (EC) has fixed tomorrow as the date for early voting and Sunday for normal voting to elect representatives for the 222 parliamentary and 505 state legislative assembly seats.

A total of 13,268,002 Malaysians are eligible to vote in the GE13 with 275,341 people comprising early voters and 12,992,661 normal voters.  Muhyiddin said the people should be wise in making their choice because what was important was that the country continued to have a more secure, stable and successful future, thus fulfilling the aspiration to become a developed nation by 2020.

He said the Barisan Nasional (BN) government had been working hard to build the foundation to develop a more succesful Malaysian race through the various initiatives and transformation processes.

“We have already built the track for us to use in heading for Vision 2020, the track is ready and on it we have the locomotive driven by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, and the speed is exceptional.

“If we are already on the track and the locomotive is already moving at high speed, we certainly don’t want any obstacle present to the extent that we can be derailed,” he pointed out.
