KANGAR, Aug 7 – Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Dr Shahidan Kassim reiterated his decision to contest an Umno Supreme Council seat in the coming Umno party election in October.
Shahidan who is also the Perlis Umno Liaison Committee chairman said he has no intention of contesting any other post.
Speaking to reporters after breaking fast with about 200 Welfare Department volunteers and students from University Malaysia Perlis (Unimap) last night, the former Perlis Menteri Besar said he had no intention of contesting any other posts so as to maintain unity in the party.
The event was organised by the Perlis Welfare Department and Perlis Media Club.
