KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 20- Malaysian students of Indian origin can now apply for financial assistance from the Indian Scholarship & Trust Fund (ISTF) for the academic year 2013-2014, the High Commission of India said in a statement here.
It said that students pursuing Diploma and Bachelor courses in universities, colleges, polytechnics and institutions in Malaysia can apply for the scholarship.
The last date for submission of the application forms whether by hand or by post is on Sept 6. Shortlisted applicants will be called for an interview.
The High Commission said that only one scholarship will be awarded to an eligible student from a family, while previous ISTF recipients were not eligible to re-apply.
“The financial assistance provided is only supplementary in nature and will not cover the full cost of studies,” it said.
